The silence is OVER! Dallas Cowboys are PLANNING to steal a 5-time Pro Bowl monster from the Raiders – The NFC East is officially on RED ALERT!..DT

For weeks in late February and early March, the NFL rumor mill revolved almost entirely around one name: Maxx Crosby. The Las Vegas Raiders star edge rusher appeared destined for a move to the Dallas Cowboys, with multiple trade packages reportedly discussed. Now, after months of relative quiet, fresh reporting suggests the Cowboys could once again set their sights on the dynamic pass rusher—this time around the NFL trade deadline.

According to ESPN’s Dan Graziano, Maxx Crosby has emerged as an “early trade deadline candidate” to be moved, with the Cowboys among the teams that could express renewed interest. While nothing is imminent, the possibility has Cowboys fans buzzing once more.

What Happened Earlier This Year

The Cowboys’ pursuit of Crosby was serious. Dallas was reportedly willing to surrender significant draft capital, including offers centered around a 2026 first-round pick (No. 12 overall) and a 2027 third-rounder, or alternatively the No. 20 overall pick paired with a 2027 second-rounder. Another framework even involved a first-round selection and defensive tackle Osa Odighizuwa.

Ultimately, the Baltimore Ravens jumped ahead with a stronger package of two first-round picks. However, after reviewing Crosby’s medical records, Baltimore rescinded the deal, returning the edge defender to Las Vegas. The Cowboys pivoted and acquired Rashan Gary but never fully closed the door on Crosby.

Why Crosby Could Be on the Move Again

Crosby signed a lucrative extension with the Raiders several years ago, before the market for elite edge rushers exploded. He is guaranteed $59 million over the next two seasons—a figure that now looks relatively manageable given his production and the current value of top pass rushers.

Despite playing through injuries last season, the 5-time Pro Bowl standout still delivered 10.0 sacks and 28 tackles for loss in just 15 games. When fully healthy in 2023, he posted a career-high 14.5 sacks. At 29 years old this August and coming off a significant knee injury, Crosby’s availability and performance this season will be critical in determining his trade value.

Graziano noted that any serious trade discussions would likely wait until Crosby proves his health on the field. However, if a contending team finds itself in need of an impact pass rusher as the November deadline approaches, the Raiders could entertain serious offers.

Cowboys’ Deadline History Adds Fuel to the Fire

Jerry Jones has never been shy about making bold moves, particularly at the trade deadline. Last season, the Cowboys sent a 2027 first-round pick to acquire defensive lineman Quinnen Williams, a move that could pay major dividends if Dallas’s defense stabilizes.

Should the Cowboys navigate a challenging early schedule and remain in playoff contention by late October, the front office could once again turn to the trade market for a game-changing addition like Crosby.

NFC East Implications

A potential Cowboys acquisition of Maxx Crosby would instantly elevate Dallas’s pass rush and send shockwaves through the NFC East. With rivalries already intense, adding a proven disruptor like the Raiders star would place the division on high alert.

While this remains speculative for now, the combination of Crosby’s talent, the Cowboys’ history of deadline aggression, and their clear need for defensive reinforcements makes this a storyline worth monitoring closely as the 2026 season unfolds.

For now, the silence is broken. The Cowboys may not be done pursuing Maxx Crosby just yet.
