The Chiefs have a great track record of developing defensive backs selected in the later rounds of the draft. Nohl Williams, L’Jarius Sneed, and Jaylen Watson are all pieces that teams passed on multiple times and allowed the Chiefs to find for Steve Spagnuolo’s unit that would eventually turn into starting options.

Williams is a current example as a mid-round pick a season ago and fought his way into the starting lineup, building enough trust to be a current starting option. For Canady, this is the path the rookie is hoping to emulate while fashioning his game after McDuffie, offering the same level of intensity that the Los Angeles Rams will now enjoy from the former Chiefs corner.
