🚨BREAKING: New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye is heading into his third NFL season with massive expectations following a spectacular 2025 campaign that culminated in a Super Bowl appearance. Operating under offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, Maye masterfully commanded the offense to a 14-3 regular-season record. Heading into 2026, teammate Hunter Henry highlighted the immense value of Maye finally having a consecutive offseason in the exact same system, paving the way for even greater mental mastery of the playbook.👇

New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye will enter Year 3 with lofty expectations after leading his team to a Super Bowl appearance in 2025.

Maye was superb in the regular season, going 14-3 en route to the Super Bowl, throwing 31 TDs to just eight interceptions, leading Josh McDaniels’ offense.

But that was his first season operating that sort of scheme, and it was wildly successful. Now, Maye will get another full offseason in that same system.

And that is something that tight end Hunter Henry thinks could be big for Drake.

“I think the underrated thing he has this year is obviously going into Year 2 in the system is big,” Henry said via ESPN. “This system demands a lot on the quarterback position. To have a whole offseason to be in the same scheme and really build on what he did last year, I’m excited to see the jump and progress he can make on a day-to-day basis.”

What can we expect from Maye in Year 3?

Well, first, we have to be honest and expect a regression.

Winning 14 games in consecutive seasons is tough, so the Patriots will regress a little, but they can still easily win 11 or 12 games.

A tougher schedule will mean Maye will face higher-level competition in the regular season, but he, too, could regress a little, as throwing 31 touchdowns to just eight interceptions is tough to replicate, unless you’re Aaron Rodgers.

But the Patriots with Maye should be a playoff team, no doubt, and as for how far they’ll go, that’s unknown.

Replicating what they produced in 2025 will be tough, but if they can get close enough to it, that’s a good season in anyone’s book.
