They’ve made the moves in the offseason to do so, and the latest one was probably the biggest,\u00a0acquiring A.J. Brown from the Philadelphia Eagles.<\/p>\n

Brown will be an instant upgrade\u00a0for the Patriots’ offense, and it gives\u00a0Drake Maye\u00a0another reliable option to throw the ball to. Maye has\u00a0approached this offseason differently\u00a0this year, and he’s getting praise from\u00a0Josh McDaniels, as well as Brown, according to ESPN’s Mike Reiss.\u201cThe first word McDaniels used to describe what he has observed from quarterback Drake Maye this offseason was \u2018intentional,’ noting he was \u2018purposeful every day.’ That also seemed to make an impression on Brown, who said he was struck by how Maye took over an offensive meeting from McDaniels early last week,\u201d Reiss wrote.<\/p>\n

It sounds like Maye has a fire lit in him after their loss in the Super Bowl, and he’s ready to come out and make sure he’s prepared at the highest level.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis offseason is different than last,\u201d McDaniels said. \u201cLast offseason, we were just getting to know the language and how to operate. This year, we’re trying to go to the next level of that. He knows a hell of a lot more than he did last year at this time. He’s trying to really turn the corner and try to perfect some things or trying to learn a few new things and evolve as a player and offense. He’s had a great attitude. Super fun to be around every day.\u201d<\/p>\n
