The\u00a0Pittsburgh Steelers have had a busy offseason, recently re-signing quarterback Aaron Rodgers as well as\u00a0young defensive star Nick Herbig. The Steelers also have a new coach in Mike McCarthy, who will reunite with Rodgers after their days together on the Green Bay Packers.<\/p>\n

Some have wondered if the Steelers might look to embrace a rebuild by trading star linebacker\u00a0TJ Watt, but recently, NFL insider\u00a0Ian Rapoport\u00a0of the NFL Network\u00a0dumped cold water\u00a0on those rumors during an appearance on ESPN’s The Pat McAfee Show.\u201cTJ Watt is not going anywhere. He is going to play for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Now, after this year, I would imagine they have a decision to make one way or the other. TJ Watt’s contract is enormous. He has been a one-helmet player. I would say every one-helmet player, you’d sort of like them to stay in the uniform, but we have learned, as we did this past week, that there is a price for everyone, so we’ll see where that goes,\u201d said Rapoport, per McAfee on X, formerly Twitter.<\/p>\n
As Rapoport referenced, a huge NFL deal went down this week when the Cleveland Browns opted to trade Myles Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams in a blockbuster move, and it remains to be seen what kind of offers the Steelers might be able to get in return for Watt if they opted to go in that direction.<\/p>\n
